NASA Releases Interactive Graphic Novel “First Woman”
We’re excited to announce the release of our first interactive graphic novel. “First Woman” imagines the story of Callie Rodriguez, the first woman to explore the Moon, along with her robot sidekick RT.
While Callie’s story is fictional, the first woman and the first person of color will walk on the Moon, achieving these historic milestones as part of our Artemis missions. Through this graphic novel, we’re aiming to inspire the next generation of explorers – the Artemis Generation. Download, read, and interact with “First Woman” or listen to the audio version exclusively on our SoundCloud.
Mark Your Calendars – This weekend, join 10 space agencies from around the world for the annual Space Apps Challenge, the largest annual global hackathon in the world. You don’t need to be a coder to participate in the event! Create art inspired by our upcoming Lucy mission, design origami that resembles the James Webb Space Telescope, or invent your own challenge.
Ready for Takeoff – If you’re boarding a plane in the future, our aeronautics team may help cut down your wait at the gate. After testing at three major airports, we’re sharing findings from an air traffic management project with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for nationwide implementation.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage – Join us Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. EDT for “Hispanic Heritage: El Ayer y El Mañana,” a conversation regarding the new National Museum of the American Latino; NASA’s impact and influence; and the pioneering spirit of Latinos.
