Underworld: Awakening – Netflix

I’m not sure where in the Underworld Saga Awakening takes place. I do know it was close to one of the top spots in my Netflix queue. Occasionally I enjoy these near real life satiric portrayals of the ills that befall society in these troubling times. Sometimes it’s a breath of fresh air to identify the source of true darkness and evil and realize it’s been us all along.

Bring on the Vampires. Bring on the Warewolves (Warewi?, Warewolf’s?). Bring on the super cool insta-kill weapons which take 4 hits to kill, things. There’s nothing more enjoyable then watching some hybrid beast human with John Wick skills and your average Dallas Cheerleaders good looks take on the noble cause of righting the universe from, wrong…

Anyways, I don’t know anything about this series except for maybe seeing the original movie 20 years ago, which was probably more likely than not 30+ years ago if my eidetic memory serves me right. I might be stepping out on a limb him here but I think the original movie I saw all those years ago might have been called, Underworld. I’m like 51, like totally, so I know there’s been at least 15 sequels or “installments” in the “saga” ( yeah I know, it’s probably more like 3 or 4) but I’d need to do a quick review to know the truth.

Oh I get it now. Trinity, the movie, or Trinity, for 2 hours. One of the things I really like about this latex wearing Trinity knockoff is this, I mean Underworld chickadee has this awesome talent that when she gets shot, all she needs to do is suck on some human blood and the bullets just pop right out of her body and she’s right as rain. Pretty convenient if you ask me and a little more realistic when compared to some giant battery world for bored robots.

One thing I gotta say after watching 30-45 minutes of this movie. This bitch is a psychotic killing machine. As far as I can tell she’s the good guy right? My goodness girl, get a hobby…

I’m not hugely into these Underworld movies and even though watching Underworld: Awakening doesn’t make me want to rush off an watch the rest of the series, I will say the story is all right and the action scenes made it interesting enough for me to watch till the end. So if you’ve got some time to waste and can’t find something to watch, maybe give Underworld: Awakening a watch.
